Bats need Habitat as many of their roost have been lost over recent years. The narrow entrance slot and strong timber help to discourage predators. New building may require the provision of bat boxes/roosts.

Made out of 12mm untreated ply providing good insulation, the design meets with the approval of The Bat Conservation Trust. With a grooved back for easy access, and an accurately sized entrance / exit slot to the floor of the box.
Exterior quality resin bonded ply, manufactured with surface sunk nails to resist rusting, untreated due to the sensitivity of bats to even non-toxic wood preservatives.

This box has the same shape as the 2F but the front panel has a second inner wooden panel fitted to it to create a cavity wall. This provides ideal quarters for bats that inhabit crevices, such as Nathusius´ Pipistrelle (Pipistrellus nathusii), Daubenton`s Bat (Myotis daubetonii) and the Common Pipistrelle (Pipistrellus pipistrellus). Note that this box can be converted at a later to a 2F or 2M Bird Box simply by replacing the front panel.

Inside it contains a woodcrete surface, a roughened wood board, and a metal mesh, providing a choice of roosting areas depending on the weather conditions and the bats' habits. It is maintenance-free as the entrance slit is at the bottom.
