Shropshire ‘Slow the Flow’ Project
We have been involved with the 'Slow the Flow' project in two areas of Shropshire in 2016. The aim of this project was to create natural, innovative ways to manage flooding, reduce floodwater height by delaying the arrival of the flood peak and hence create improvements in water quality which benefits wildlife.
By planting trees in the floodplain, creating ‘leaky dams’ along various catchments, managing natural ponds and creating new ponds, we have helped increase resistance to floodwater and hold water back.
